Franciscan monastery – Wolf Dietrich vault

The history of the Franciscan monastery – right in the heart of Salzburg's old town – dates back to 1583. Prince-Archbishop Johann Jakob Kuen of Belasy called on the Franciscans to settle in at the left-alone monastery and to devote themselves to inner mission and pastoral care. And today? Since 2007, the Salzburg monastery belongs to the Provincial of the Franciscan Province of Austria of St. Leopold in Austria and South Tyrol. In addition to pastoral care, the Salzburg Convention is dedicated to confessional, nurse and hospital counseling. The priests are also active as preachers and retreat masters. And also the music has entered the halls of the Franciscan monastery. The Mozart Piano Sonatas, the Mozart Piano Matinee and The best of piano recital (special event) take place in the Wolf Dietrich vault.

St. Peters Church in Vienna

The first church of St. Peter, from which unfortunately nothing is remained, has a history that goes back to late Antiquity. Therefore, it is the oldest church in the city of Vienna. The church is supposed to be founded by Emperor Charles the Great around 792, but this cannot be proved. Around 1701, on the initiative of Emperor Leopold I, the construction of the church began, since the walls were already quite decayed. The present church building was completed in 1733. The church of St. Peter is located in the first district of the city of Vienna, directly next to the moat. It disappears almost between the high houses of the city and can only be seen if you are standing directly in front of it. Here the Mozart piano sonatas take place.
